We assist in forming SHGs by identifying interested women in the community and bringing them together. We focus on groups of 10-20 women, creating a support network where members can rely on each other.
Once formed, we provide training on how to manage the group, maintain records, and conduct meetings. We also offer guidance on group dynamics and conflict resolution.
We continuously monitor the progress of these SHGs, providing necessary interventions and support to ensure their sustainability and effectiveness.
We conduct workshops and seminars covering various topics such as financial literacy, health and nutrition, legal rights, and entrepreneurial skills. These sessions are designed to build the capacities of women, enabling them to handle personal and group activities effectively.
Special emphasis is placed on developing leadership skills among women. We identify potential leaders within SHGs and offer them advanced training to lead their groups and communities.
We provide vocational training in diverse fields such as tailoring, handicrafts, agriculture, and small-scale industries, ensuring that women have multiple avenues to generate income.
We facilitate access to microcredit for SHG members, enabling them to start or expand their businesses. We partner with financial institutions to provide low-interest loans and ensure women understand the terms and conditions.
Encouraging a culture of savings, we help SHGs establish internal savings and loan mechanisms, where members can save small amounts regularly and borrow from the group’s collective savings.
We support women in identifying and pursuing income-generating activities. This includes market research, product development, and connecting women with local markets and buyers.
We run health camps and awareness programs focusing on women’s health issues, maternal and child health, and nutrition. We also collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure women have access to necessary medical services.
We emphasize the importance of education for women and girls. Our programs include adult literacy classes, scholarships for girls, and community awareness campaigns promoting the value of education.
We work on improving sanitation and hygiene in communities by constructing toilets, promoting safe water practices, and conducting hygiene education sessions.
We conduct campaigns to raise awareness about gender equality and women’s rights. These campaigns address issues such as gender-based violence, discrimination, and legal rights.
We engage with policymakers and stakeholders to advocate for laws and policies that support women’s empowerment and gender equality. We participate in forums, submit policy briefs, and collaborate with other organizations to amplify our voice.
We mobilize communities to support women’s empowerment initiatives. This includes organizing community meetings, rallies, and cultural programs to spread our message and encourage community participation.
At UNITED ORGANISATION FOR WOMEN EMPOWERMENT, we are dedicated to fostering sustainable development through Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and empowering women in our community.
